Details:
Expect a pedal effort increase of 20%-25%. Discs are assembled with heat-treated wear resistant hubs; drive plates and springs for high load transfer and dependable operation. The sprung centers on the disc in conjunction with the marcel fin between the linings create a dual dampening effect that gives great clutch modulation for easy street driving on the full face sprung hub clutch disk offerings.

Stage #2 – TZ-Series Full Kevlar Disk Kit – 400 lb/ft Torque Rating

The South Bend Clutch Stage 2 Clutch Kit is an excellent choice for SRT-4 Owners making up to 400TQ while retaining a street clutch feel.  Their special TZ-Series Sprung Full-Face Kevlar clutch disk is capable of handling substantially more power and abuse than an organic street disk without excessive wear or glazing issues.  The kevlar material allows the clutch to be slipped like a street disk, but engages firmly when you drop the hammer!  It is also very forgiving on flywheel friction surfaces and won’t shred the flywheel surface.  This clutch is extremely capable, and is an excellent street/strip clutch that can handle alot of abuse and still keep on kicking for alot of miles!  Even if you overheat the clutch, its kevlar material won’t glaze or burn off like an organic street disk would.  If you allow the clutch to cool down, it will return to normal operating conditions and clutch modulation.

Stage #4 Custom – TZ/B-Series Kevlar/Ceramic Dual Friction Disk Kit – 550-600 lb/ft Torque Rating

The custom TZ/B-Series Sprung Full-Face Kevlar/Ceramic Dual-Friction clutch disk is an excellent choice for SRT-4 Owners making up to 550-600TQ while retaining a street clutch feel, and can handle even more abusive launches without slippage.  The Ceramic material allows the clutch to handle more heat than the Feramic material with less chance of friction welding the Feramic to the flywheel surface.  The thermal expansion of ceramic is also very low so it won’t cause disengagement issues when hot.  This clutch will have a smooth clutch modulation with crisp engagement under normal driving, and engages like a puck-clutch when you drop the hammer!  The pressure plate side has a full-face friction surface of Kevlar material and the flywheel side is composed of 8 ceramic friction pads on a sprung-hub clutch disk.  The Kevlar friction material facing the pressure plate side is also very forgiving on friction surface and allows you to slip it like a street clutch.

Stage #5 Custom – HD-X-B-Series Pressure Plate with Full Face Ceramic Disk Kit – 600-650 lb/ft Torque Rating

The South Bend Clutch Custom Stage 5 Clutch Kit is an excellent choice for SRT-4 Owners making up to 550-650TQ while retaining a street clutch feel.  This is the highest torque capacity Modular clutch that we offer with a full-face clutch disk to retain streetability and longevity of the transmission input shaft.  The kit utilizes a custom pressure plate denoted as a “HD-X” and has a higher clamping force than the Stage 2-4 kits listed above.  Pedal feel is slightly higher than stock and is very easy to drive with very little pedal effort.  The kit utilizes a full-face sprung-hub Ceramic friction material with 8 segmented pads per side of the clutch disk.  It is capable of handling more power than the Stage #3 and Stage #4 clutch combinations, and can handle even more abusive launches and heat without slippage.  The Ceramic material allows the clutch to handle more heat than the Feramic material with less chance of friction welding the Feramic to the flywheel surface.  The thermal expansion of ceramic is also very low so it won’t cause disengagement issues when hot.  This clutch will have a smooth clutch modulation with crisp engagement under normal driving, and engages like a puck-clutch when you drop the hammer!  This clutch is an excellent choice for customers running stock or built motors with turbochargers at or larger than a 50-trim at higher boost levels.  This clutch is installed in a couple customer cars with built motors and GT35R and PTE 6266 setups and are easily handling 30psi of boost and 500+WHP right out of the box!  Super smooth street manners, soft pedal feel, excellent streetability and confidence in having anyone be able to drive your car without wrecking a clutch.  This clutch is a great alternative to people looking at 6-puck non-modular clutches, and with the heavier flywheel, the streetability is considerably better than a non-modular clutch due to the higher rotational inertia.  What does this mean?  Well, smooth acceleration from dead stop, stop-and-go driving, uphill starts, etc.

These clutches are extremely capable, and are excellent street/strip clutches that can handle alot of abuse and still keep on kicking for alot of miles!  With any clutch, give it cool-down time between passes at the track, and it will last longer.
