Finally, there is an upgrade from the factory OEM Mitsubishi 23-spline transmission output shaft! This part is common to wear out over time, especially from a worn out center differential or worn out transfer case. This part also typically breaks from higher horsepower racing applications, as well as transmissions using a welded center differential, or spooled center differential, such as with a PPG dogbox gearset. This upgraded output shaft is made from 300M alloy steel, which is a modified alloy 4340 steel that is through-hardened with a Rockwell hardness of C55. Its material composition gives it a very good combination of strength (280-305 ksi), toughness, fatigue strength and good ductility. It is a MUST PURCHASE item for any high horsepower application and is a GREAT VALUE in comparison to the OEM Mitsubishi shaft it replaces, which is nearly the same price from the dealership.
This 300M output shaft is being used in all of the top 5-Speed DSM’s in the country, and has been tested to over 1300+ AWHP in the Boostin Performance drag car, the world record quickest and fastest AWD DSM, The Red Demon. Their car, as well as 1200+ AWHP Trevor Holland’s 1G DSM and Mike Wohler’s 2G DSM have broken the stock output shafts on a regular basis (see pictures for example failures). With this output shaft, there is no longer the reality of broken or twisted shafts which was common place with the factory parts.
This product is for all W5M33 AWD 5-Speed Transmissions ONLY; it does not fit the Automatic W4A33 Transmissions.
